چکیده

Introduction: Central vein catheterization (CVC) is one of the main risk factors for central stenosis (CVS) occurrence in hemodialysis population. In this work we aimed to evaluate previous venous manipulation, clinical presentation, and complications patients with proved CVS. Material Methods: We retrospectively reviewed all angiographies attending our public hospital center treatment from 2013 2018 (n=209). confirmed CVS (n=29, 14%), evaluated history prior CVC cardiac rhythm devices (CDR), as well demographics cardiovascular factors. Results: identified 31 29 who underwent angiography. Most these patients, 75.9% (n=22), had at least (ipsilateral or not); ipsilateral short-term was found 34.4% (n=10) long-term 41.4% (n=12) patients. All a CRD (n=4, 13.8%), developed an Conclusion: Prevalence detected population significant likely underestimated. A high percentage CVC. The number similar that CVC, hinting important role factor do

Endovascular interventions for central vein stenosis

Central vein stenosis is common because of the placement of venous access and cardiac intravascular devices and compromises vascular access for dialysis. Endovascular intervention with angioplasty and/or stent placement is the preferred approach, but the results are suboptimal and limited. Primary patency after angioplasty alone is poor, but secondary patency can be maintained with repeated ang...

Investigating the frequency characteristics of the electroretinogram signal in patients with central retinal vein occlusion

Background: Central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO) is the second most common retinal vascular disorder after diabetic retinopathy. In this study, we tried to examine the potentials of time-frequency methods for differentiating the eyes with CRVO. Materials and methods: Twenty patients with unilateral CRVO were included in this study. Their contralateral normal eyes were considered as the control...

Central vein stenosis in a dialysis patient: a case report

INTRODUCTION Central vein stenosis is not a rare problem in patients on dialysis. Placement of a central vein catheter for dialysis access substantially increases the risk of central vein stenosis. However, even in patients without a previous history of central vein catheter placement, a stenosis can be found in up to 40% of patients. CASE PRESENTATION We report the case of a 60-year-old male...

Sulfur Mustard Exposure and Non-Ischemic Central Retinal Vein Occlusion

A 41-year-old man was referred with a complaint of visual loss in his left eye and his best corrected visual acuity was 20/80. Slit lamp examination showed arborizing conjunctival vessels and dry eye. Fundus examination and fluorescein angiography revealed a non-ischemic central retinal vein occlusion. Cardiovascular, rheumatologic, and hematologic work up showed no abnormal findings. An ascert...
